THE 'FAMOUS MONDAY BLUES' AT THE

    'BULLINGDON', COWLEY ROAD, OXFORD UK.

IS THRILLED TO PRESENT AT ON MAY 12th 2008.

 'SHERMAN ROBERTSON & BLUESMOVE'
           http://www.famousmondayblues.co.uk

WELLTHE EXCITEMENT IS GROWING, IT IS ALWAYS GOOD TO WELCOME BACK THOSE OVERSEAS ARTISTS WE CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF & LOVE HAVING AT OUR SHOW AGAIN & AGAIN, WE ARE TALKING ABOUT 'THE MAIN MAN' SHERMAN! A SERIOUS STAR ON THE INTERNATIONAL BLUES CIRCUIT TODAY.
  • "Sherman Robertson and BluesMove is a mighty powerful combination." Blues Matters!

  • "Sherman Robertson deserves to have his name added to the short list of the finest musicians who play electric blues." - Living Blues

  • "Some of the best Texas soul-blues anyone could hope for. Potent singing and sizzling guitar 'Sherman Robertson is one of the most important artist in blues." - Blues Revue

Sherman Robertson is already considered a young master of zydeco, hard-swinging Texas electric blues, R&B and swampy Louisiana blues. Robertson often surprises audiences with his ability to play R&B, zydeco and blues with a rock edge. "I use that driving, road-cooking type zydeco groove, and put blues on top of it," says Robertson. It's basically rhythm and feel." In June 2000, Robertson played at the Pioneer Valley Blues Festival in Massachusetts. Alligator president, Bruce Iglauer, was in the crowd. "He was always good,” he says, "but when I saw him in June he was on fire. He ruled the stage, had the audience in the palm of his hand, and his just plain physical showmanship reminded me of Albert Collins. As Soon as he walked of the stage I started talking about signing him. He's got that Texas energy, great guitar chops, and is a wonderful, soulful singer."

Dani Wilde On Tour  Sept 17th to Oct 19th

21 year old Dani Wilde grew up in the tiny one shop, one pub village of Hullavington in Wiltshire, only a few doors away from the home of jazz superstar Jamie Cullum. In the same way that Jamie has taken jazz music to mainstream acceptance, Dani injects youth & vitality into another  non-commercial musical genre – blues music; taking it to much wider audience.

Dani has the genuine, authentic texture of real blues and soul in her voice, a quality rarely heard in singers of her age. She soars far beyond the usual limitations of youth with a conviction and emotion that defies her years.

What the critics say:-

“She releases a sort of diesel roar from her throat, pierced with little darts of high falsetto. It’s like two voices. … whooping and slurring like an old boy from the Delta” - Alan Franks  The Times

“ Seething vocals……..real talent”                                         Henry Yates    Classic Rock

“Believe the hype, this girl is phenomenal”                                            Blues in Britain

Her debut album ‘Heal My Blues’ was released by Ruf Records in  February ’08,  and was  voted album of month by Blues Matters magazine.

The Why & Wherefores

Take the singer crowned the "queen of British blues", add "Cooderish grooves" from dynamic guitarist, hand the bass lines over to a sousaphone, let loose a truly funky drummer (and occasional didge player) and let a few lap steel lines soar over it all and you have The Why & Wherefores.

The Why & Wherefores is an exciting and innovative band from the north of England. They play mostly original material by Emily Druce and Steve Jones, inspired by a range of styles from roots to rockabilly, swinging by a few Latin and African grooves along the way.

Their live sets include a few original takes on covers from the likes of Bo Diddley, The Velvet Underground, Dinah Washington and Bob Marley.

Good time guaranteed !
