We have been a bit quiet of late (Especially in London) due to firstly, building our own recording studio and secondly, recording a new album in it. This was much fun and pretty arduous at the same time – as recording usually is. Anyway, the music is done and Stuart is just bashing away on the laptop doing the artwork. The album is real, real, real good – recorded on “Whatever was available at the time” which meant some up to date equipment and some (As the band put it) shite. It’s very rock oriented – quite raw in places and also with some nice acoustic work. SJ has let you lucky people on the mailing list have one for free! (Attached track – Yellow dress, one of the 2 acoustics on the record.)

HOLLAND

The band would like to thank everyone in the Netherlands who made their stay such fun, especially Bert Dirks and the crew at the Café de Keijzer and also the staff of the Hotel de Sluiskop. We do have a video diary of this outing and we intend to put it on the web as soon as we have edited out all the swearing – this should cut down the running time from half an hour to approximately 4 minutes! Lots of larking about – some dodgy camera work and a decent version of Purple Haze is the content.

Any Dutch promoters/venues who receive this e-mail letter and would like to re-book or enquire about booking the band please contact info@stuartjamesband.com we’d love to be over in the summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY SPACE

We have now followed the rest of the universe and got a my space site up and running! On here you can get snippets of some of the rockier tracks from the new album and some off the old “Introducing” EP. Please tell all your friends about it and send us your friend requests. Here is the link if you aren’t going in via www.stuartjamesband.com MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/stuartjamesbandstyletypetextcss

Already our mailing list is huge but we are always looking for new recruits!! Please direct your music loving friends to info@stuartjamesband.com and we will stick them on for future updates – also if you guys have any photos of the band in action please don’t hesitate to contact us and send them in no matter how daft, we are always willing to put them on the sites.

CANCELLATION

Unfortunately due to an extreme episode of incompetence the Maltshovel gig on 14th April has been cancelled so don’t attend expecting to see the SJB – the next one at this venue is 19th MAY

GIG OF THE MONTH

Is at the Brunswick, 1 Holland Rd, Hove – a newly re-furbed purpose built music venue and bar showcasing the best in local talent. Rock Blues and Jazz are on the menu and the food is good too. It will be nice to play somewhere classy - £3 on the door and support from local slide player – be sure to be there the boys have actually put in a rehearsal for the occasion to include some numbers from the new album! Never know it might be out by then!!

You can catch us at the Bridge House too this month where we always seem to play particularly well in front of a home crowd – you can’t beat the relaxed atmos in there – see you there hopefully

That’s all this month – hope to see you at a gig soon. Webmaster
